It’s quiet on the ridge tonight.

Too quiet.

Tomorrow, Annye and Rusty arrive.

And tonight… the questions are loud.

Will the new fence actually keep two Scottish Highlands on the ranch?

Or did we just build a very expensive obstacle course?

Are the cattle panels set up correctly for those first few days—

secure, safe, and not accidentally inviting a jailbreak?

Will Annye trust us?

Will she warm up… or stare straight through our souls like a fluffy bouncer deciding who gets in?

And Rusty—

Will he look at Bud and think “Ah yes. My people.”

Two chaotic spirits, one shared brain cell, unlimited potential for mischief.

Then there’s the dogs.

Starke, noble and intense, will absolutely believe this is his job now.

Roxy will assess the situation calmly, wisely, and from a judgmental distance.

Bud will want to be best friends immediately…

and probably learn several lessons the hard way.

Will Annye tolerate the dogs?

Ignore them?

Politely threaten them with her presence?

Tonight, the ranch is holding its breath.

The panels are set.

The fence is standing.

The humans are overthinking everything.

Tomorrow, the saga gets furrier.

The cows are coming.
